Tasting Notes
The sister to Pinot Noir in Burgundy is Chardonnay, so we wanted to make a full malo barrel fermented chardonnay in a traditional style to accompany our world class Pinot noir, while we are waiting for our new Chardonnay blocks to come into production. This Chardonnay was grown in the southernmost tip of the Willamette Valley in a higher elevation site that makes for a lively food friendly wine.
Winemaker Notes
Chardonnay is my favorite white wine because of its multiple personalities. Just like Pinot noir, it is very expressive of the site and the vintage. This example comes from a very cool site so it has a lot of lively acidity. This acidity added to the slight new bbl component makes bright, traditional Chardonnay with some nice aging potential.
