Crisp, vibrant and aromatic with notes of pear, granny smith apple, honeysuckle and passionfruit. High acid, medium tannins with lingering finish that tickles the tongue. A crowd pleaser that pairs well with seafood & Asian cuisine.
Planted in 1991, the 50-acre Hawks View Vineyard offers the ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The eastern-facing slope and Laurelwood soils, combined with dry farming and hand harvesting, allow for wines of great character and distinction.
Oregon is known for its unpredictable weather patterns, which can sometimes cut harvest short. Boy, we were surprised to be given a third straight vintage of warm storybook weather. Harvest kicked off on September 5th marking our earliest Pinot Gris pick to date. Cooler temperatures followed, which allowed us to hang the fruit until September 20th resulting in a truly layered and expressive wine.
