2008 Carabella Vineyard Chardonnay

Our 2008 Carabella Vineyard Chardonnay was harvested at 3.0 tons per acre.  Carabella Vineyard was planted in 1998 on the southeast side of Parrot Mountain in the Chehalem Mountain range. Gravelly volcanic soils, clonal selection, and ideal elevation come together in making this racy Chardonnay. We crop the Chardonnay to relatively low yielding which creates a wine with depth, concentration and structure. Entirely fermented in small stainless steel fermenters with a specific selection of yeast selected to enhance the character of the site.  We inhibit the wine from going through malolactic fermentation to keep vibrancy of acidity and purity of fruit flavors. The wine is aged for six month on its gross lees until just before bottling and was stirred monthly to enhance the texture of this wine.

The 2008 Carabella Vineyard Chardonnay aromatics show pear, apricots, and lemon curd which compliment the palate’s bright acidity and great length.
