Jack & Willie Kemp
After concluding over a thirty five year career in banking and investment management, Jack purchased Hawks View and Muirfield vineyards in 2001. His love for wine began in the early 1980’s during a summer spent in Palo Alto at Stanford Univerisity’s Executive Program. A life long Oregonian, he and his wife Willie reside atop the vineyard. They are proud parents of Kari, Kristi, and A.J., and grandparents to five active grandsons.
A.J. Kemp
A native Oregonian, A.J. is a 2002 graduate of Claremont McKenna College and a 2003 graduate of the Peter F. Drucker School of Management. After returning to the Northwest in May of 2003, A.J. began a working internship under the supervision of Hawks View’s viticulturist. As the 2003 growing season came to a close, A.J. was fortunate to spend crush in a working internship capacity at an Oregon winery. A.J. oversees the day to day management of both the Estate vineyard and winery as well as various other business activities by the Kemp family. After a number full growing seasons, A.J. has developed a true passion for wine and feels privileged to be involved in the industry. He lives overlooking both Hawks View and the Muifrield Block with his yellow lab Dash.
Ryan Harms
Born in the Midwest, Ryan spent the latter part of his childhood in upstate New York outside the Finger Lakes wine region. He received his bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. Ryan arrived in Oregon in 2000, and honed his skills at Bergstrom Wines, Torii Mor Vineyards and Winery, and Rex Hill Vineyards. With an established reputation for quality, attentive winemaking, and focus of the vineyard, Ryan’s passion lends itself perfectly to crafting elegant Pinots from Hawks Views’ estate. Ryan and his wife Tori live in Portland with their two sons, Noah and Ethan.
George Hillberry
George is a 1991 graduate of USC and earned his MBA from Baldwin Wallance in 1999. The Hillberry family has been involved in the Oregon wine industry for 20 years. They purchased their first property, Chehalem Mountain Vineyard, from Dick Erath in 1986, and in 1999 we established La Colina Vineyard in the Red Hills of Dundee. In 2002, he assumed full control of the vineyard operations and assembled a core crew of very experienced vineyard workers. George and his field foreman, Francisco Cervantes, are committed to bringing the highest level of care and attention to Hawks View Vineyard through timeliness and attention to detail. George and his wife Carla live just a mile from Hawks View in Sherwood.
